Lodge

Our spacious living room overlooking Laguna Verde is one of the favourite spots in the lodge. Anglers can sip on a cocktail while enjoying, on the 42´ LCD TV set, slide shows of the catches of the day. Satellite TV connection and a DVD player are available for entertainment, as well. For complete relaxation, we provided that room with a fly tying desk and library to enjoy when not fishing.
There is also a newly built changing room / drying facility located just by the entrance door of the lodge to use before and after fishing. We want to make sure anglers have all the fishing gear (such as waders, wading boots, rods, reels, vests, etc) ready and dried day after day.
The Lodge also offers visitors Satellite and IP telephone and free unlimited wireless Internet access. To avoid extra luggage, anglers can use the computer of the lodge. Windmill generators, and fuel generators as back up, guarantee the energy demands of the Lodge, providing electricity (220 volt.) 24 hs a day. Laundry service is provided twice a week if desired by guests, as well as any other special attention needed or wanted.
The staff at the lodge offers friendly and professional attention to create a cosy and hassle-free atmosphere to guarantee our guests have a truly unforgettable experience.

Cuisine

Estancia Laguna Verde also offers an excellent cuisine, in charge of its exclusive chef and sous chef. We set ourselves the goal of being ambassadors of the richness of the gastronomic cultural diversity of our immigrant and local history delighting our visitors with typical Argentinean tasty delicacies.
BREAKFAST
Coffee, tea, fruit juices, dairy products, ham, eggs, toasts, freshly baked bread, butter, patagonic marmalades, honey, cereals, and others are available at the lodge for an excellent and energizing breakfast.

LUNCH
At noon, our anglers enjoy of delicious and varied menus varying according to the fishing programs of the day and spots in the Estancia. Some of those substantial dishes consist of grilled meat or trout with salads, picnic of bread, cold cuts, cheese, fruits, and other tasty options.
Fly fishers can relax for some minutes on sun lounges distributed at the different fishing spots to rest their arms before facing demanding trout in the afternoon.

SNACKS
Comforting warm coffee or tea is available 24/7, as well as other snacks such as cookies, crackers, sandwiches, anglers may want to have between meals or before dinner. Anglers can find regional Liqcours and spirit drinks to recover from the worthy Jurassic contenders of the day.

DINNER
Once back at the lodge, and after a refreshing shower, our chef and sou chef each night prepare a world class 3-course menu for our guests’ delight to taste after an exciting day.
In a friendly atmosphere, visitors can try different types of local appetizers such as goat or sheep cheese, dried hams, dried pork sausages, among others. As the main course, anglers can taste our famous “asados” (barbecues), our traditional Patagonic lamb or our classic homemade pastas, just to name a few. For dessert, apart from having a great variety of fresh fruits we also offer different delicacies specially prepared by our chef. The wine selection for the evening varies according to the planned menu.

BEVERAGES
At the lodge we offer a wide range of first-rate beverages varying from our famous wine selection of traditional Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tannat and other white types, to regional homebrewed beers, spirit drinks, whiskies, cognacs, etc. These and other alcohol-free beverages are available daily at the bar in the living room.


6 Days- Fishing Program

Day 1

Reception at Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires and transfer to domestic airport.
Arrival in San Martin de los Andes at Chapelco Airport (around 2 pm) or at Bariloche International Airport. You will be met by our Host and Head Guide (Mr. Jose Pagano)
Drive to Lodge in San Martin de los Andes. Estimated travel time from Bariloche is 3 and half hours and from Chapelco Airport is only 30 minutes.
After checking into the lodge, we will walk around town and stop at a fly shop to purchase the fishing license and other items you may need.
At 8pm we pick you up at the lodge and take you to a fine restaurant in town for our welcome dinner so you can enjoy Patagonian cuisine and ines.

Day 2:

Breakfast at the Lodge.
We leave the lodge around 8:30am and drive to the Collon Cura River. This is a big water river where you`ll find brown and rainbow trout as well as some Perca, our native fish. We’ll float all day and stop for lunch and to wade some of the channels formed around the islands in the river. We recommend 5 & 6 wt rods. Depending on the time of year, it is best fished with floating lines with sink tips 130 to 200 grains or shooting heads with 4′ leaders. Other times is best fished with floating line and dry flies or dry/dropper combination and 9′ to 12′ leaders.
Drive back to the Lodge.
Dinner.

Day 3:

Breakfast at the Lodge.
Leave the lodge around 8am and drive to Lake Tromen. This majestic lake is at the foot step of the Lanin volcano and also is where the Malleo River is born. We will fish the lake for brown, rainbow and brook trout. This is the place where we can change your perspective of fishing a lake. We’ll fish from our boat casting to weed patches and submerged logs where big trout live. There is a small spring creek that can be fished while we set up for lunch. It is easy to find trout up to 6 lbs or more. To fish this lake, we recommend 5 and 6 wt rods with floating lines and 9′ to 12′ leaders. Another possibility are floating lines with sink tips 130 to 200 grain or shooting heads with 4′ leaders with woolly buggers, dragonfly nymphs, muddler minnows, bunny leeches, etc.
Drive back to the Lodge.

Day 4:

Breakfast at the Lodge.
Leave the lodge around 8:30am and drive to the Alumine River. We enter the Mapuche Reservation (local indigenous people) and border the Malleo River until we reach the confluence with the lower Alumine River. We will fish brown and rainbow trout. We`ll float all day and stop for lunch and to wade the channels formed around the islands in the river. We recommend 5 & 6 wt rods with floating lines with dry flies and 9′ to 12′ leaders. If the river has strong water flow we will use floating lines with sink tips 130 to 200 grain or shooting heads with 4′ leaders.
Drive back to the Lodge.
Dinner.

Day 5:

Breakfast at the Lodge.
Leave the lodge around 8:30am and drive to Lake Lolog. This is a big and beautiful lake offering great fishing. We’ll fish from our boat casting to submerged logs and weed patches in search for brown, rainbow and brook trout. Around 1pm we`ll head to a nice beach to enjoy our lunch and rest before continuing to fish the remainder of the afternoon To fish this lake we recommend 5 and 6 wt rods with floating lines and 9′ to 12′ leaders or floating lines with sink tips 130 to 200 grain or shooting heads with 4′ leaders with woolly buggers.
Back to the Lodge.
Dinner.

Day 6:

Breakfast at the lodge.
Leave the lodge around 8:30am and drive to the Lower Malleo River. This section of the river is wading only. There are many pools to fish all day and we’ll move around with our pick-up trucks to find the most productive pools. A well placed fly in the right spot often produces really nice rainbows and browns. Caddis and mayflies are always present in the Malleo River. We recommend 4 and 5 wt rods with floating lines and 7′ to 12′ leaders.
Another option is to drive to Lake Hermoso. We’ll fish from our boat casting to weed patches formed by a set of islands in the middle of the lake. We`ll find nice size brown, rainbow and brook trout. Around 1pm we`ll head to a nice beach to enjoy our lunch and rest before continuing to fish the remainder of the afternoon To fish this lake we recommend 5 and 6 wt rods with floating lines and 9′ to 12′ leaders or floating lines with sink tips 130 to 200 grain or shooting heads with 4′ leaders with woolly buggers and other streamers.
Drive back to the Lodge.
Farewell dinner. We will enjoy the famous Argentine ASADO (BBQ) with some excellent wines and beer.

Day 7:

Breakfast at the lodge.
Depending on time of departure flight, we will go into town some last minute shopping.
Transfer to Chapelco Airport or Bariloche International Airport.
Pick up at Domestic airport in Buenos Aires and transfer to Ezeiza International Airport
